According to the details on his certificate of marriage, William became a dairyman in Parkstone (now just a district within the large town of Poole). He married Ada Hill, a girl from the hamlet of Harbridge, just north of Ringwood. The couple married in the Church of All Saints at Harbridge where the witnesses were Hubert James Hill and Rose Downer.
